For my 300th post to BunnyBlab (I kid you not!), I'll share a video I took of Kayla on May 31, 2009. She died less than 3 weeks later. She was 8 1/2 years old. I miss my little Squirt.

"Big Buck Bunny" and "Bunny"

I have two vids for you for the finale of my countdown to 2009. They are animated "shorts" and I love them!

First up is Big Buck Bunny, who proves that every big heart has its limits. Wait for the "bonus scene" after the credits!



Second up is a video simply entitled "Bunny." It's endearing for reasons I can't explain. Comment and let me know why I love it! It was created by the people who made Ice Age. (I put this one second because I've used it before.)

Bunnies in the animated Mac commercial

I'm not sure whether Amy Sedaris is right or whether John Hodgman is, but this is some superlative bunny action in the Mac commercial I just saw the other day! And you know how I love superlative bunnies!

Bunny who thinks he's a goat

Check out the head-to-head butting action of this little dude! I've never seen goats be friends with bunnies before, but clearly this bunny can't let his buddy out of his sight. It's just adorable what games animals come up with when left to their own devices! Terrifying rabbit, indeed! =:-3

Bunny vs. Kitty

A few comments about this one...

1. My 2-pound Kayla would have knocked that cute little kitty to Timbuktu. No one holds a candle to my little boxer! It took a good year for her to stop boxing my hands and she still boxes the vacuum cleaner when it dares come near her. She's a spitfire, my teeny tiny Netherland Dwarf!!

2. The music in this vid is just awesome. Congrats on going the Rocky route, jonpeterson1!

3. You see in this video exactly why bunnies rule most of the roosts they share with kitties. Outnumbered, even, this white fightin' machine is formidable to the wary orange kitty!

4. A note to the intrepid kitty: This is not a wind-up toy! She will beat the snot out of you and she's actually not that afraid of you. (I love how it looks at the beginning like the kitty just wants to pet the bunny!)

Ebony and ivory

I can just hear the song in the background now... Do you think the cream-colored dog came from the "union" of the black cat and white bunny?! This is the kind of identity confusion I'm talking about, people! But this bunny really loves this kitty. He thinks he's gonna get kisses from her. Or at least, he keeps hoping he will. Too adorable!

But all my brothers and sisters are cats...

I can just hear the therapy session now. This little guy is very well cared for and well loved, obviously, but what identity crisis awaits?! Too sweet for the kitty mommy.

Bunny munching away

This cutie is sooo hungry, she could eat a whole rice cake. Somehow the fact that her hands stay on the edge of her bed make her even sweeter.

Cutest bunny?!

The cutest bunny on the Internet?! Well, all baby bunnies are probably the cutest bunny on the Internet, but check out this lil' charmer!

Cottontail stretch

This is a great quick vid showing a wild cottontail stretch and yawn. The wild ones are cute, too! :-)

Dog in denial about bunny playmate

Continuing our mini-series of dog and bunny vids, check this teeny dude out. I love how blase this Goldie is about the little ball of fuzz jumping all around him!

A bunny and his dogs

I love how this bunny thinks he's just one of the pack. He's totally in love with his dog -- look at those binkies and that relaxed pose when he lies down next to Dottie!

Here's a little video lesson to people who think that bunnies and other animals don't mix. Just intro them carefully and they'll understand they all belong in the house together.

Bunny Ballet

This is some of the best footage I've ever seen of a bunny being a bunny. See what all those people miss by keeping bunnies outside in hutches?! You first met Billy the Bunny in yesterday's video post. Now he's up to some seriously wonderfully choreographed dancing. I'm pretty sure he'll get a scholarship for this work.

The Bunny 500

When bunnies run around like they're inSANE, it's called the Bunny 500. Watch this cute Netherland Dwarf tear up his apartment. You can almost see the flames behind him! This is one incredibly happy bunny. Make particular note of the binkies on the bed. Great sound editing, too!

Countdown to 2009

A bunny video a day. That's the goal for the rest of 2008, which has been a good year, as years go, but we're looking at Hannukah and Christmas and New Year's and (insert your end of the year holiday here), so let's wrap this turkey up with a big, shiny bow.

We all need a chuckle every now and then. I found this lovely short on YouTube and wanted to share it with you!

This whole thing started off with a bunny who didn't think he needed to become any smarter than he was. I, for one, agree. Enjoy!

Mesmerizing bunny video

Watch bunnies hop. Keep watching. Don't stop watching....

This 8 minutes of video is somehow captivating. I think it's because of the music loop. But also, these bunnies are just too damn cute. It's like a family of SweetPeas! I just hope they don't all have her Lil' Miss Thang attitude!

Poor Peanut looks all frazzled -- he looks like he's either molting or else he had a very close call with something that dive-bombed him. Glad to see he's still interested in treats, though!

It's not just the babies who play all the time...

Baby bunnies on video

This video explains why I don't have more pictures of my bunnies when they were babies. See, it's not that I have very few pictures, it's that I have very few pictures in focus. I didn't have a video camera when Amber, Hops or Pea were babies. The next baby bunny I get I'll follow him everywhere with my vid cam. It's the only way to get them on film, since the little buggers move so quickly!
